Get set for 4 days of sportastic fun! Highfield's FREE annual holiday club returns with a sporting theme. We will be creating our very own athlete's village and competing through games, crafts, sports, challenges, songs, stories and finding out about what it means to be in Jesus' team and win a heavenly prize!

The club is open to children in school years R to 6 and will run from Wednesday 6th June-Saturday 9th June 10am-12.30pm. The change from the usual days is to allow for Jubilee celebrations on the Tuesday.

Registration forms are available from the church office and need to be returned by Monday 21st May. If you would like to be on the team talk to Sammy!

Highfield Church hosts the latest exciting production from the well established Riding Lights Theatre Company,on Friday April 27. The performance starts at 7.30pm and is suitable for children and adults. Tickets before the night are £9 for adults and children, on the door slightly more expensive at £12.50 adults, £10 children. So a good reason to book your ticket early. Tickets will be on sale after the services this Sunday and from the Church Office during the week, (opening hours 9-12am), you can either collect or reserve.

Women@8 are hosting a quiet reflective day on Saturday 28th April (10am-4pm) at St. John the Baptist Church, Shedfield.

The day will be led by Anne Lewin who has done many of these types of days and written books with meditations.

Tickets are £10 / £8 concessions which includes lunch & refreshments.Tickets are available at Church services on Sundays 15th and 22nd April and from the Church Office.

Highfield Church in Southampton is a thriving Anglican Church. We are looking for Interns to serve God while receiving practical training in various forms of ministry. Half of this practical ministry will be spent in our children, youth and student departments, the remaining of the time taken up with various training opportunities offered by the Church during the year.

This is an exciting opportunity to explore your own calling under God while gaining experience and training in Christian ministry.

We can offer:

The opportunity to discover and develop your God given ministry gifts;
The support of a large staff team and church;
A planned and structured involvement in many areas of ministry;
A personal allowance of £360 per month and an accommodation allowance of £120 per month.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a lively Christian faith;
Is enthusiastic about exploring their future Christian ministry;
Is keen to learn;
Would be able to work within an Anglican Church committed to transformation of lives through the Spirit.

An invitation to 8 evenings in Southampton: teaching, discussion, stories of freedom and tools for recovery; for sufferers and those who care for them.

The next course begins on May 1st and runs for eight weeks on a Tuesday evening. It is run in partnership with Highfield Church, St James' Church Shirley and the Southampton Christian Network. Please contact Di Archer or Jean Hart via the Church Office if you are interested.

We ask for a £5 donation for each session. If you would like to support us in prayer we would be very grateful.

Sunday 1 April	6.30pm	The Mark Drama	A great opportunity to see Mark's gospel brought to life through drama.
Wednesday 4 April	9am	Holy Communion
Wednesday 4 April	7.30pm	Taizé service in Church	A candlelight service lasting 45 minutes with combination of Taize music, prayers and silence. A contemplative act of worship as we approach Good Friday.
Good Friday (6 April)	12-1pm	All Age Service
Good Friday (6 April)	1-3pm	Reflections
Saturday 7 April	10.30-1pm	Messy Church for families
Saturday 7 April	8.30pm	Re-igniting the fire	A brief service in Church that will involve a beacon, song and a chance to renew our baptism vows and some peace and quiet. Unlike the cross-focussed reflections of Good Friday, this is a resurrection-focussed place of rededication and hope-filled anticipation. Lasts only half hour but afterwards there will be space for prayer and then marshmallows.

'Building Blocks of Faith': Sat 25th Feb

You are invited to a Women@8 Breakfast at 8.00am on Sat 25th Feb in Highfield Church Centre to hear Jean Hart and Helen Thompson share about the 'Building Blocks' that have helped them in their journey of faith. Tickets will be available from 11th February from Highfield Church on Sundays and the Church Office in the week - £5 and £4 concession.

'Hungry to Grow': Sat 28th April

Women@8 are hosting a retreat day on Sat 28th April at Shedfield Church and are delighted that Ann Lewin will be joining us to help us reflect on the theme of being 'Hungry to Grow'. From the back of one of her books Ann is described as 'one of today's most popular spiritual writers and retreat leaders'. Tickets for this event will be available from Sunday 15th April. More details to follow.

There is also another Women@8 walk planned for the 7th July.

These events are for any women who wish to explore these themes further or just want to join in with what we are doing - all are welcome! For more information about Women@8, click here.

The Worship Central Course is a seven part course looking at the big theological and practical questions around leading worship and thinking about how we can reach our vision of being extravagant worshipers at Highfield. It's a course for all who are involved in leading worship or supporting those leading worship in any way.

The dates and programme are:

February 7: Why is worship central?
February 21:Encounter God
March 8: Leading worship
April 19: Releasing creativity
May 1: How to play together
May 17: The effective team
May 29: The authentic worshipper

Sessions run from 7.30-9pm, with cake and a chat from 7.15pm.

We are delighted to be joined by Baroness Caroline Cox on Sunday 29 January. Baroness Cox is the founder and CEO of Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART) who work to provide lasting change through aid and advocacy for those suffering oppression and persecution, who are largely neglected by the international media. She is also a member of the House of Lords.

She will be preaching at our 11am and 6.30pm services and we will have a chance to chat with her over lunch in the Centre at 12.30pm. The plan is for people to bring their own main course and we will provide puddings and refreshments.

Baroness Cox will also be speaking at our Reasonable Faith session at 4.30pm on Christian Responses to persecution and war. We hope you can join us.
